I’m 31 now, and there was a time when I genuinely never thought I’d make it past 21. Whenever I tried to imagine my future, all I could see was this dark, blank space. I dissociated through so much of my 20s, just existing, surviving, and somehow making it from one day to the next.
And yet, somehow, I’m still here.
I’m still working on myself, one day at a time. It’s hard, and some days are harder than others, but I’m learning that you don’t have to have everything figured out at once. You get there slowly. Little by little, things begin to feel lighter, and hope starts to find its way back in.
I’m not completely there yet, but for the first time, I can see that there’s something beyond that blank space. And I know that eventually, I’ll get there.
