my partner recently got approved....he was going back and forth to court. It's not even at the mercy of the judge, he literally encountered an HRA worker that took a liking to him and a result they worked with him. Its literally the luck of the draw

They want us choose between utilities, rent, and food. My con ed bill was $465 last month. My rent is $1750 for a 1bedroom. I have 2 children. On paper I make a decent amount but I also have to start paying student loans. I get that it was my decision to have children but it was not my decision to live in a city that so unaffordable. I pay my taxes but yet where are they going? Why am I not seeing where my tax dollars are going? They damn sure are not going to my community…I’ll tell you that for sure.

HRA is denying most applicable bc, they want you to 1. Bring money to the table. They are denying people who are applying and have $0 added. 2. How are you going to pay your rent moving forward. If you can't prove an income to pay your monthly rent each month, they are going to deny. 3. Why wasn't your rent paid. There has to be a real emergency issue with proof of why a person did not pay their rent. HRA is stricter now.

Misinformation. People are denied because they aren’t giving the document they ask for…. Not to mention you are only allowed one a year many many many of them were re-applying despite the rule.

Mind you half them workers are back in rent they damn self ! NYC rent is outrageous and any little raise you get they’re hiking up your rent by 500 dollars . The shit is shameful & then you still gotta pay for tissue , soap , GROCERIES, wash clothes etc & you’re coming home with 2k after taxes mind you they go based of your income before taxes SCAM.

NYC is way over saturated as is .so if all these ppl lose their place where will they go ! Another thing is everyone got money during covid for those 2 years if they was unemployed I know ppl who was partying every day pooping bottles , shopping sprees and not paying their rent 🥴

Thats correct. people not paying their rent and had the funds available. They had no hardship or castrophe in the household. And that why we deny those application. Con edison they can make a payment plan. When they do they don't keep the arrangements. light out.
