I lifted against Ronnie in the early 90s in a powerlifting competition. we chatted like competitors do and discussed drugs. one on one, man to man. Ronnie was definitely clean at that point in his career.

It’s tough, Ronnie is one in a billion, and looking at how he ended up it seems like the introduction of roids changed him a lot, same when looking at Lee priest when he was supposedly natural and then in gear, he ballooned very quickly which makes me think he may have been telling the truth

There are limits to natural. Go look at Steve Reeves, who peaked in the mid-50s before steroids were a thing. He was a very developed dude but not as big as Ronnie was. Ronnie has perfect genetics. O’Hearn has perfect genetics. Assume you can elevate what Reeves did with modern science to be 10–15 lbs more muscle and more cut. I think it’s right on the border of what early Ronnie looked like and maybe an earlier version of O’Hearn. So it’s pushing the limits, but it’s not decisively impossible. It’s just more likely for the rest of us to chalk it up to PEDs.
