@wandering.with.ad: 🚨Let’s set the record straight since a lot of ppl are fighting in da comments of the 1st vid: 1. No, I am NOT in the US, the name of the mosque is SMA in a country called Suriname. This video and other videos are not meant to “Bash” or insult Islam. I love this religion with my whole heart and have tried to become a better Muslim each day since converting, and I wouldnt want it any other way even if the whole world and its riches were offered to me twice over. 2. Because my heart is attached to God, His houses of worship, and prayer in general, I often feel immense pain and saddness when someone refuses me from prayer. Usually I have experienced this with Christians or Jews so I expect it from them (no shade), but I was especially shocked to know that my own brothers from my own community told me “no” and that’s why I reacted so strongly, and am still reacting this way, especially when I see Christian/Muslim brothers and sisters in my COMMENTS being an extension of that cruelty. Be better fr. 3. The reason I filmed this experience was to simply bring an important issue within the Muslim community to the forefront because the way I was treated was unjust and “un-muslim-like.” As a Muslim I am obligated to fight against injustices. If not by hand, then through word, and if not through word then with my heart (Hadith 34,40 Hadith an-Nawawi). After speaking with Islamic scholars from Massachusetts, we concluded that the way Islam is being practiced here is CULTURAL and not truly Islamic in nature. 4. Lastly, Yes, I DID look up beforehand whether this mosque would have space for me as a woman and it said they did online. However, I find it ridiculous that its become “normal” for women to have to do all of those steps to pray in a space that we are fully entitled to by GOD. After bickering back in forth w/ the men, they told me I could pray on the floor which was literally filthy (because it’s an open door mosque and vehicles were driving/parking in there). I felt extremely unwelcomed in a space that I would typically recognize immediatly as “home,” so I decided to catch a cab to a different mosque that I could potentially pray in and even had difficulty there. #englishislamicvideo #muslim #muslimah #rant #solotravel

Ouuuu so for jumaah i think they probably open the designated women space for men because of the amount of prayers who’d come on friday. Every mosque would have space for women to pray except for friday prayer due to limited spaces. It’s nobody’s fault. Just a miscommunication. I understand that some of us also would like to experience jumaah prayer but it’s not wajib or you MUST attend. I think it’s like they not allowing you pray there but because of space for your aurah, a lot of men and 1 women would not be suitable.
