October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and this one is deeply personal to me. Once i celebrated October as my birthday month and now awareness of what I’ve been through. I know what it feels like to be afraid, to feel isolated, to question yourself, and to wonder if things will ever get better. I also know how difficult it can be to find the strength to speak up, walk away, heal, and rebuild your life. To every victim who is still trying to survive — I see you. If you are still in it, please know that you don’t have to figure everything out today. Take one safe step at a time. Reach out to someone you trust. Make a safety plan.
