Attunement is a big deal. Let’s discuss ↓ Attunement = when your cues & needs (emotional, physical etc) are seen & responded to in a way that makes you feel safe. It forms the crux of what we come to believe about ourselves, our safety, our worth & the world around us. In our formative years, we rely on our caregivers for attunement. Their ability (& capacity) to notice our cues, respond to our needs & show us that something in us has been seen. Over time, these moments shape our inner world. When our signals are met with care, we learn: my needs make sense. They matter. They’re worth responding to. When they are missed, minimised or inconsistently responded to, we often learn something else entirely: that our needs are inconvenient, confusing, too much etc. etc. And this profoundly impacts the way we move through the world. So much so, that it can even be the underpinning of CPTSD & other kinds of neurodivergence. So let this be is a Loving reminder that your inner child deserves to attunement… and as an adult you have the power to start making that happen by returning to yourself, your needs & choosing people who make that happen.
