The officer survived. Unfortunately his leg had to be partially amputated. He returned to service a year later. The criminal case against the driver is still open.

They need to make it so if you’re over a certain % of BAL you should lose your license for X amount of years and if it’s over a certain amount of years automatic 10+ years in jail

drunk drivers should be put in the system after 2 offenses that prevents them from buying or putting a motor vehicle in their name. completely strip the ability to own a motor vehicle again.
