“Naubo kayo 'ron ah...kahit 'to kinabahan” WATCH: Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor "Jonvic" Remulla cracked a joke during a press briefing on the alleged “payment for promotion and acceptance scheme” and “slots for sale” within the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) on Friday, August 28, 2026. Remulla was asked by a reporter to name the highest-ranked official being investigated among the “more than 200 individuals” in connection with the “cancer” affecting BFP. With a straight face, Remulla responded, “ang pinakamataas na ranggo ay ang kasalukuyang head ng BFP si General Kwan Tiu.” Fire Chief Superintendent Wilberto Rico Neil Ang Kwan Tiu is currently BFP’s Officer-in-Charge (OIC). Remulla quickly took it back with a wide smile, “hindi loko lang, loko lang.” Laughing, he added, “naubo kayo ‘ron ah. Kinabahan kayong lahat. Kahit ‘to kinabahan eh. Hindi po.” His joke elicited laughter from Kwan Tiu, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., and others present in the media huddle.
