@schultz2round: Did you guys know that the Anti-Zuckerberg movie is actually an ad for Facebook? Did you guys know that the movie where a guy TURNS COMICALLY EVIL halfway through is actually an AD for McDonald’s???!!!!!!???!!!? My brain is numb. PLEASE GOD do not go out and start hating on this guys channel tho he just had a take I disagree with. Let him live and we’ll all be fine. I feel so bad for getting his channel name wrong this whole video tho ): #biopic #thesocialnetwork #rantoftheday #propaganda #medialiteracy
The founder paints the "founder" of McDonald's as a huge massive mega-asshole who stole everything and didnt make a single think. Thats wild

the idea that anyone could watch the Social Network and come out of it thinking it paints Zuckerberg in a good light is baffling to me.

There’s a timeskip scene in BlackBerry that makes a main character so unrecognizable that you don’t even realize it’s him for a second. That one scene makes it abundantly clear that the message of the movie is that chasing fame and fortune warps people into monsters

Whenever someone asks my favorite movie I say interstellar, but I preface it with “I know this is basic” and then say “my niche favorite movie is Tetris” because what do you mean this man went behind the iron curtain to make sure the solo creator of this game got all the money he should’ve gotten for making it and was hunted by the kgb alongside two Nintendo employees and the Russian dev of Tetris while fleeing the country? Like what? It’s so good?

I really love that movie but it portrays Zuckerberg to be way more clever and witty than he actually is, which is an interesting choice.

I think his point is that even in movies like The Social Network where they do depict these founders as terrible people, they do so in a way that isn’t based on true events. They just make up a movie around something vaguely real, and pass it off as a true biopic of the companies 😭 There probably was no deep emotional moment where they all yelled at him “how could you do this to us” but like, for the sake of Hollywood, the movie needs it to keep your attention by just making stuff up.

Despite being a “tragedy”, the Social Network does paint Zuc as technically proficient and savvy at being cutthroat, both of which are probably more complimentary than he deserves. Also, the notion that mark actually cares another human, albeit helpful for motivating a storyline, once again probably gives him too much credit.

It’s like people who think the Wolf of Wall Street is promoting that behavior just because the ending is the white collar crook gets a slap on the wrist.

However, Air was 100% corporate propaganda garbage that got great reviews. I’ve never seen a movie with next to zero stakes just celebrating rich people getting richer, and have every reviewer completely ignore that.

I think what I've seen no one talk about is how in the video it's clear to me that he hasn't seen any of the movies he talks about or if he has, he views it in a strict plot way versus actually delving into the depths these movies have
