But I want to turn this into an opportunity for us to realize EVEN MORE that talking about postpartum mental health struggles is incredibly important for expecting moms, people trying to conceive, families adjusting to life with a newborn. No, that calypso one is EVIL and acts like she’s the only person in the entire world and has no idea that strangers may struggle with anything ever

I saw the stitch that Quinn Pratt did.. his followers are brutal (in my opinion ) and he definitely wasn’t letting anyone try and tell them their take on it unless it agreed with him..

Please please don’t take this the wrong way. But get off social media for a bit. For your mental health at the moment. Thank you for advocating for maternal health and maternal mental health.

Normalizing having thoughts of killing your newborn child is not the way. Those thoughts are NOT normal. Educating on how to deal and remove those thoughts is different or seeking professional help would be the route not normalizing it.

I posted a video saying I have empathy for Lindsay Clancy because I’m struggling with my postpartum mental health and people told me to kill myself 🙂

a woman posted her intrusive thought that she was scared she was gonna trip and fall and her baby would fly out of the carrier into a wood chipper shes walking by (a clear ocd type of intrusive thought) and the comments were FLOODED with people saying they were going to report her to CPS.... it is so fucking sad ...

If there is one thing that I’ve learned during this trial, it’s that men really HATE women.

Women support you. Men hate women. Dont listen to what they are saying. What you do is valuable.

This Clancy case is seriously creating a very hostile and dangerous space for women right now. I love your content and it’s been super helpful to me throughout my motherhood journey. I’m sorry this is happening to you :(

FOR EVERYONE: postpartum intrusive thoughts happen. But here’s what they mean! They mean that they are UNWANTED DISTRESSING THOUGHTS. This is not people walking around saying they WANT to kill their kids. No this is women who won’t sleep at night because they are having INTRUSIVE thoughts like “what if I fall asleep and in my sleep I stab my kid?” They do not WANT to do it. They are having UNWANTED DISTRESSING THOUGHTS. And saying it’s not normal, or shaming people who have this after birth, will DETER them from getting treatment, increasing the chance of it getting worse.

Intrusive thoughts are impulse fears....it's a fear of something happening. and as a mother those fears are amped up 1000%

This is a sign as to why mothers never reach out. Because the majority of people ARE judge mental and hateful and wish death on mothers who go through psychosis. And people think you can control everything you do during those times . Those threats are real. Women are not heard ever and now what men are doing is using women’s support of others as ammunition for full custody . It’s grotesque

I can’t walk down the stairs carrying my baby without imagining me tripping and us falling down the stairs in some catastrophic way! It’s a fear, not a desire to hurt my baby

Aw I’m an OCD therapist a perinatal mental health trained. So many people do not know or understand intrusive thoughts. You spreading education and awareness around it is amazing and exactly what we need. ❣️

When my babies were little, I would literally stay awake all night and my brain would come up with every possible (and impossible) thing that could tragically happen them. Not bc I wanted to hurt. Bc I wanted to protect them from EVERY SINGLE THING…even wood choppers!
