I homeschool my kids and was quietly kicked out of a co-op after I said I didn't make my kids say the pledge every day. They are middle school age so they've done a unit study on it and what it means so its not that they don't know it. But I'm not making my kids stand up at the kitchen table and say the pledge and they were horrified. And this was a Christian based homeschool co-op.😬

Jehovahs Witnesses refused to pledge they were expelled from public schools in the 40-50s. The matter made it way all the way to the Supreme Court who ruled in their favor.

As a Christian I believe those of us have to speak out against Christian Nationalism and sadly a majority of evangelicals have embraced this . I am not following any church doctrine , only Jesus words should we follow

Thank you for saying the most Christian values I've heard in years. I wasn't raised with religion, but have found it on my own a few times. Everything you say are things I questioned and then turned me against the churches around me (buckle of the Bible belt.) Which is truly abhorrent to me.

I can agree with the majority of this, but I’m not understanding how pledging allegiance to the flag of your country is the same as worshiping another master. Beyond that this makes a lot of sense.

How do you defend the concept, that: Christ on a Cross is a Graven Image and breaks commandment as Christ a man on Earth, or something in the Heavens above? God never himself demanded worship, Moses added the commandment demanding you place God before all others, God himself said no such thing, and when he said it that included him, when he was also a man on Earth and carving law into stone.
