Acorns International School celebrated 30 years of excellence. I am grateful to them for inviting me both in my official capacity and as a parent of Babito, who is one of their learners. My message to everyone present was simple: Let us teach our children that there is more to life than wealth. Let us teach them that a functional country makes life easier for all of us. Let us teach them to despise corruption and to embrace patriotism, so that we can build a nation that lives up to His Excellency the President's vision of Prosperity for All. I was humbled that parents and different speakers appreciated the Ministers of Local Government, Hon. Balam and myself, for our spirited fight against corruption. I encouraged everyone to fight corruption at their own level, because together we can build a corruption-free Uganda. I was impressed by how intelligent the children at Acorns are. It was also a joy to meet my law school mentor, Hon. Medard Ssegona, famously known as Akalya Amaggwa, who is a parent at the school. His brilliant son, who serves as Head Prefect, even gifted me his book. I was pleased to see Hon. Grace Akifeza, Minister of State for Defence, my brother Rulinda, the Mayor of Entebbe Municipality who sits on the Board, and a special salute to Hon. Lakisa Mercy, Minister of State for Youth and Children Affairs, who was the keynote speaker. Congratulations to Acorns International School on this remarkable milestone.
