just something to note, 18 doesn't mean "legal adult" in all states. nebraska you have to be 19 to be considered a "legal adult" 18 is still a minor there.

And guaranteed the reason why the daughter was so upset by what your sister said to her is because she does understand to a capacity that something isn’t right. But she’s been conditioned to believe that that is a normal parent child’s relationship. But that gut feeling is always there and having somebody else a stranger verify those feelings that is what upset her and she probably confronted her mother and father, and this was the result.

I think you might have a exaggerated the situation. There are a lot of parents in these days in age that do kiss their kids on the lips. I’ve seen it, and I have been grossed out by it because that is not the way I was raised, but I have seen it from women who let their little boys kiss him on the lips, and I have seen little girls. Kiss her dad on the lips and I find it in appropriate. As long as it doesn’t look like they are grabbing genitalia, OK?

While I genuinely appreciate you said something in the end, girl, you really should have said something immediately. I would have went to the police station explaining everything including your location to the other campers, spoke with the front office with the cops about relocation or something due to the nature of the call, then let the law and CPS take it from there while you guys relocate. Abuse is hidden behind the kindest seeming people calling while emotions are higher provides a better opportunity for a slip. All the same thank you for saying something hopefully it was taken seriously.
