In 2026 alone, the franchise lost three of its most beloved faces: Catherine O'Hara, Kevin's fiercely determined mother; Brenda Fricker, the lonely Pigeon Lady who became his unexpected friend; and Tim Curry, the wonderfully suspicious Plaza Hotel concierge. They join John Candy, John Heard, Roberts Blossom, Ralph Foody and Eddie Bracken performers whose relatively brief appearances gave these films so much warmth, humour and personality. Candy's reassuring kindness, Marley's quiet loneliness, Peter McCallister's exhausted confusion and Johnny's immortal gangster dialogue all became inseparable from the world of Home Alone.
