POV: I can’t belive my security cam caught this 🥺 Your home should be the safest place in the world for you and your family. A monitored alarm system, outdoor CCTV, and smart access control give you real-time peace of mind. Whether you’re at work, on holiday, or asleep. Network Security installs and monitors security systems Nationwide. Sleep easy tonight. #alarmsystem #securitysystem #familysafety #homesecurity #heartfelt
I love me some good old silly powder, guys! 🥳👌 Anyone else out there that enjoys it as much as I do? #FunTimes #SillyPowder #GoodVibes #Laughter #Friends
1. People are so comfortable being themselves. People wear whatever they want and don’t really worry about judgment. Back home when I worked in a hotel, we couldn’t even color our hair. I used to overthink my style too. What if people think I’m trying too hard? What if they think I’m not thin enough to wear this? Here, people just express themselves and no one really cares. 2. People move out and become independent so early. A lot of people here live on their own in their early 20s and they’re excited about it. Back home it’s normal to live with your parents even after you get married or have kids. Families stay close and no one thinks it’s strange. Here, independence is expected much earlier. 3. People say “excuse me,” “thank you,” and “sorry” all the time. Even strangers are polite in public. Someone bumps into you and they’ll immediately say sorry. People say thank you to bus drivers too. Back home we don’t really greet strangers in elevators or say thank you to public transport drivers. I actually love this culture of appreciation. 4. Coworkers call their bosses by their first name. This took me a while to get used to. Back home we would say Ms. or Sir when talking to our bosses. Here everyone just uses first names and it makes the workplace feel more relaxed and approachable. 5. Work life balance is taken more seriously. I don’t feel guilty asking for time off here. Taking vacation is normal and even encouraged. Back home I used to worry my leave wouldn’t get approved. Here, resting and taking breaks is seen as part of being productive. Comment **start** if you are a Filipina immigrant or newcomer in the US ready to stop surviving and start building. I’ll send you my free guide on how I managed my money and the conflicting feelings when I first started, invested in myself, and built the life I always dreamed of. ✨ For my fellow immigrants living in the U.S., what shocked you the most when you first moved here? Let me know in the comments and follow for more relatable immigrant life content. 🇵🇭✨ #lifeabroad #filipinainnewyork #filipinainusa #immigrantlife
