For instance, someone who really values their relationship may start having intrusive thoughts about cheating on their partner, someone who cares about children may start having intrusive thoughts about being a pdf file, etc. OCD often uses “what if…” questions to keep people stuck in a cycle of doubting and trying to find 100% certainty. Unfortunately, with OCD, there’s an endless supply of “what ifs”.
