@sayitformemusic: I don’t think we talk enough about grieving someone who is still here. Especially when that someone is you. I miss the girl I used to be. I miss how she laughed. How she trusted. How she didn’t question every good thing that happened to her. I miss how much lighter she was before life gave her reasons not to be. And I think for a long time I believed healing meant somehow finding my way back to her. But maybe some versions of us don’t come back. We can be grateful we survived and still grieve who we were before we had to. We can love who we are becoming and still miss who we used to be.
