I was a trained EMDR (Eye Movememt Desensitization & Reprocessing) therapist before I got sick, so please don’t do EMDR on yourself like I did here. I only did it because I’ve been doing EMDR for over 10 years now and know my limits of what’s safe for myself and not. This was a simple, one-incident memory I knew I could tackle without too much fallout. I’m sharing it because I’ve had countless moments like this with more intense traumatic memories & I’m forever grateful I was introduced to EMDR in grad school!
