Cyclops does have a point that when the X-men and mutants were under threat the avengers were no where to be seen. But Deadpool also made a good point in one issue. The X-men are quick to shut out non-mutants

Cap was in the right. Mf really said let's have another chance on the phenoix. Sure I lost my wife and we are glorifying it for mutant rebirth training a child for it but we got this. Sure My Wife the best and only one to last this long also eventually lost herself to the phenoix but I believe this child can do it since we trained her.

Context ppl always cut out is the phoenix is coming for his grand daughter. Cable (his son) came back from the future and told Scott that he witnessed a future where the avengers didn’t let hope be the host of the phoenix, and evt was shit. So of course is cyclops isn’t gonna let his granddaughter go into avengers custody.
