My theory is that Ben is a drug addict and he imagines that all this is real. His uncle Nathan died, but he imagines that his uncle is a ghost and that everyone sees him, in fact he imagines everyone in the hotel as some kind of beings and besides his family they are actually just people. Abaddon is not actually a demon and is not even called Abaddon, he is his adopted brother Philip, who actually thinks of himself as Abaddon and dresses like a child from the middle ages, but Ben bullies him and eventually Philip commits s*ic*de, and Ben continues to see Abby's ghost, but this time Esther sees him too. His girlfriend Annabelle Anastasio. She is a drug addict too and thinks she is the ghost of a girl who died in the 1930s, but in fact Ben also sees his dead brother Martin, who died because he was k1ll3d in a car accident by their father Ron, who actually, like his son, has a drug problem and even spent a long time in prison.
