I truly believe her tension with Anthony definitely came from the fact that she resented having her own child have so much social power over her and knowing that his choices would dictate both hers and her daughter's futures. His marriage to Kate definitely softened things as she knows that in her absence, the others are in good hands.

I want Eloise and Violet to have this growth in Eloise's season. Eloise's resistance to marriage and Violets insistence on her engaging in the marriage mart has got to come to a head before their relationship can grow. I hope its not boiled down to "Eloise gets married and Violet was right."

they are such a compelling duo and i love it so much! i feel like anthony has an interesting relationship with his family since he is the head of the household and i believe you only treats benedict as a brother and the rest as his “kids”

I think Violet overcompensates for how checked out she was post-Edmund’s death. And her favorite children are the ones seeking out love matches. Or at the very least they’re the ones she most open to listening to (Zoom in on Eloise).

I have seen people tear her to shreds over what happened after Edmund’s death. But it was so complex socially then. And losing your husband while pregnant and then having to hash it all out postpartum after an incredibly traumatic birth? Oh my god. At the end of the day sometimes we aren’t enough when life goes sideways and well… that’s life. They got through it, each making mistakes and came out on the other side with love and respect. And that’s beautiful.

I just love complex characters and dynamics and I really wish Bridgerton would explore other relationships to the same extent, because I think there are still so many dynamics in the show that would have potential to be super interesting. But as the seasons progress we see less and less interaction of the family, which makes me a little sad.

You said it though, that Anthony is her pseudo partner but doesn’t behave like a partner. Hes still in rake mode in season 1 but pretends he’s the sole head of the house instead of his “partner,” his mother, as support.
