The moment a bone breaks, your body immediately forms a blood clot around the fracture to stop bleeding and kickstart healing. Over the following days and weeks, that clot gradually gets replaced by a soft cartilage callus, essentially a bridge connecting the broken ends together. From there, bone-forming cells step in and replace that cartilage with new mineralized bone, creating what's called a hard callus. This temporarily makes the healing area thicker than the original bone, your body's way of reinforcing the area while it heals. Over the following months, the bone enters a remodeling phase. Specialized cells called osteoclasts remove excess bone while osteoblasts rebuild and reshape it, gradually restoring the bone back to its original size and strength. Here's what makes bone truly unique: unlike skin, which usually heals by forming a scar, bone has the ability to fully regenerate its normal structure, almost like the break never happened. Recovery time still varies based on age, overall health, and the type and severity of the fracture, but the process itself is genuinely incredible🌴 Vid: Unknown ✅Follow @drdavidabbasi for More Daily Medical Content & Health Tips!😷Schedule a consultation in Delray Beach!
