the free market saved China from communism! Deng made massive free market reforms in 1978 and now they get 60% of their GDP from private and over 90% of all new jobs from private. they have over 500 billionaires and most economists would consider their economy to be Authoritarian State Capitalist. they are still however an authoritarian regime and their citizens lack invidual freedoms that most western countries have.
