It’s not a punishment it’s a consequence. If she won’t help watch the baby that means they have to pay for childcare, paying for childcare means they have less money for things like the money they freely and generously give to her. It’s a natural consequence that as their expenses rise the money they give away decreases and she isn’t entitled to their money to begin with.

She’s a grown adult when she first got divorced. She should’ve downsize her life to be mostly covered by her alimony instead of wanting to keep her lifestyle and making her children pay for it.

op posted an update 2 weeks ago! mom got a job at a medical clinic and is still fine and close to the family, sister got approved for disability to stabilize her financially.
