I've researched this extensively and it causes vertical growth and recessed jaw never extract teeth either neverrrr ur wisdom teeth and why do you think they call them wisdom teeth , extractions cause recessed jaw .. Anyway, there's a doctor in England who talks about this For the past twenty plus yests hes tried to educate people into not getting additional braces ... i put my son on expanders myospace to open expands his teeth to where he has that perfect jaw

depending on the way the teeth need to move they can project or recess the jaw. most people don’t notice.

Yes that is the usually trend with both Invisalign and braces. The jaw shifts downward and backward. It also atrophies your muscles and overtrains certain muscles, so it causes facial volume loss from the overactive muscles that is melting the fat and soft tissue. I’m overrrrr orthos gaslighting people saying this isn’t true. I’m over it. They need to stop being so criminal and out it in consent forms

yup my jaw used to be a lot more defined because my face was “pointier” in a sense i guess because i had an overbite but now they make my face wider n it looks better and more cohesive now

This also happens because unfavorable bite changes damage your temporo mandibular joint, when your TMJ is damaged, your jaw tends to retract because the joint is dislocated. When the TMJ dislocates, since your jaw moves on a hinge, the jaw retracts giving that downward and backward look, creating a longer face look

it depends, the braces themselves wont affect your jaw on a skeletal level, but on a dental level to fix your arch.
