But insurance knows something— they know that it is an uncomfortable procedure. They also know that if they force it into multiple appointments, a percentage of people just won’t come back. So they hope that the uncomfortable recovery, or the inconvenience of multiple appointments will be enough for you to not come back. And therefore, they don’t have to pay for the rest of treatment! But half of the mouth being treated is just not good enough. To treat the disease, all affected areas must be treated. This is just a tactic that insurance will use to limit payments for expensive procedures for a very common disease.
