When we, as a society, start having more empathy for perpetrators than victims, it’s really scary. Why she did it isn’t what we should be dwelling on. Being emotional or overwhelmed is not an excuse to hurt children. Everyone has an excuse for their wrongdoings, but that doesn’t make them right. Let’s not forget who the real victims are.
