If you send 100 pitches and all of them are copy paste generic messages your chances of getting even ONE response are extremely low. But if you send 5 pitches where you've done real research on each client? Picked out specific pain points? Started a conversation not a sales pitch? Your chances of getting 2 responses out of 5 are very high. Five intentional pitches beat a hundred lazy ones every single time. Now for job boards the same principle applies. Set a daily target for how many jobs you want to apply to. But every single application needs a DIFFERENT cover letter. I know that sounds exhausting but here's the hack. Copy the entire job description from the posting. Paste it into Claude or ChatGPT. Ask it to generate a cover letter that matches the job requirements AND your existing skill set from your resume and portfolio. One prompt. One cover letter. Tailored specifically. But don't stop there. Run it through AI again and ask if the cover letter is ATS friendly. ATS systems check for KEYWORDS from the job description. So paste the job description alongside your cover letter and ask AI if the right keywords are present. If they're missing your application might never reach a human. The formula is simple. Job description goes in. Cover letter comes out. AI checks keywords. You humanize it. You send it. Move to the next one. Work smarter. Pitch intentionally.
