As a Xennial… these younger millennials get on my nerves sometimes. The best thing i ever did since joining the work force is connecting with GenXers on the job. They were the ones who KNEW EVERYTHING about the work and they never led me wrong because they didn’t want to have to go back and fix what I messed up. It’s even better if a GenXer actually likes a younger person and “adopts” them. I’ve been adopted by a few and they had my back the long way.

Hell we taught ourselves how to drive a car way before we were allowed to drive a car! Today they need lessons and our scared and literally do not want to even know how to drive! We taught ourselves how to be independent not dependent period!

We take pride in our work unlike this young lady. We don’t cut corners because we know that that creates issues or bad product. We know how to do it the old school way and have learned to adapt to technology not depend on it.

When they “cut corners” it means that they did either a sloppy job or skipped steps and someone else has to go behind it and fix the mess that they created.

We also don’t have a problem, accepting accountability and consequences for our actions. We don’t have a problem saying yes, sir no ma’am please thank you I’m sorry we know how to come to work on time. We know how to do our job while we’re there without any of the hassle and we know how to survive without the technology. This newer generation would quite literally be busting at their seems if they didn’t have it and we all know they would go absolutely berserk without electricity

Go back to paper and they would meltdown. managed a restaurant and a storm knocked our computers out. I said ok no problem we're go back to pad an pen. . when I tell you I lost a little hope in our future. it's sad really... was literally asked can we just charge the price on the menu and not put tax on it😳 because they didn't know how to and then because it took longer. Same question wanting to not give change back to customers or take credit cards.
