@uncover.quantum: Every interaction leaves the universe harder to reverse — and quantum physics may help explain why time has an arrow. ⚛️⏳ Decoherence happens when quantum systems interact with their environments, spreading quantum information into correlations that become effectively impossible to track and reverse. This doesn’t require a conscious observer. Photons, atoms, air molecules and other environmental interactions are enough. Physicist Jim Al-Khalili explores how quantum entanglement and decoherence may help us understand why the world we experience has a clear direction from past to future. Entropy remains central to the standard thermodynamic arrow of time. Quantum physics may help illuminate how that irreversibility emerges at a deeper level. The strange possibility? Time’s arrow may be connected to the universe continually becoming more entangled with itself. ⚛️🌌 📚 Source: Jim Al-Khalili — On Time

The Amazing Shawn :
We still need to ask why the universe started in a state coherent/low-entropy enough for all this spreading-out to have somewhere to go.

Time is a human made constraint nothing else on this planet or in this universe cares about what we call time, it’s easy to confirm because nothing else has watches or calendars 😂

basically time is just the passage from one state to another. it can only go in one direction because it is only a measurement of change not direction

Observation in quantum physics is not referring to something that you are looking at, but something you detect. To detect a particle , you have to interact with it, which causes the particle to entangle, at least until it interacts with another particle and entangles with that. This is going on all the time, wherever there is energy. Nobody has to look at it for this to occur.

This makes my head hurt, 🥺. I’ve been reading these things and thinking about quantum mechanics physics for a while. It’s just such a different concept that I still feel like I can’t quite wrap my head around it.

Time is its own dimension, so of course it would have space and flow. Entropy is just what keeps it going

why do they always overlook the fact that we "look" at nothing, we see a reflection of the past.. get your shit together guys
