Humans Are the Animals Look at nature closely. Animals hunt to survive, protect their young, form bonds, communicate, and live according to the laws of nature. The creatures we call “animals” may actually understand their place in the world better than we do. So maybe the real question isn’t whether animals are intelligent enough to be civilized.
