I understand that the man behaved like an asshoke. My issue is: why does the man need to get on the ground? I don't think he was a threat to iggy at all. Why should a citizen need to get dirty and possibly even hurt, knees scraped, etc just because a tyrant is a bully with a badge? All they want to do is belittle and humiliate people.

All over a shopping cart, the cop will get a note in his file for it—one he won’t even know about, but it’ll be there for future reference. Once the guy gets to jail, he’ll be released unless he has serious warrants. There are no available beds and no room for people just borrowing shopping carts. Not to mention the piles of paperwork for Officer Friendly. That alone tells me this is probably a skit.
