Had my teacher in Sec 4 tell my mother I had no future after trying to ask questions about my results (my mom saw my ahh tear up upon getting the paper), I think my teacher genuinely forgot ITE was an option ITE was the most happiest ive been because I was with people who were actually human

even if youre in a bad sec school its the effort you put in that counts imo, cuz u can slack in a good school compared to working hard in a mid school the differences in grades can be seen from miles away

i mean no disrespect i just wanted to say that isnt this the fault of parents and not the government? the elitist mentality, pressure cooker mindset stems from parents and the way they view education no? personally i think the singapore education system isnt perfect but it works well at what it does. it gives good broad knowledge across different subjects (even if some people dont like this it is very much crucial) till O levels which helps alot when people change their minds when transitioning from poly to uni and changing career paths as the O level knowledge acts as a solid foundation (from my friends' experience transitioning from humanities to engineering) and places like poly and ite allows students to specialise in their passion and the skillsets are also pretty essential in society. my point is that the problem are singaporeans not the system in my opinion.

Yes.. we took studies.. wasting years of education and still can’t find a proper job.. they asked to study again.. “upgrade skills” and they say it is life long learning?? 🤌🏽
