@itsthespotlight: As you probably guess, Backrooms' "found footage" wasn't found at all, but was given the look from director Kane Parsons through a variety of different methods. In a new behind-the-scenes clip, Parsons breaks down how he got Backrooms' VCR aesthetic, and it turns out it was from using actual VCRs to give it that clipped, off-putting glitchy vibe. In fact, a lot of what Parsons used to make the movie was the home setup he used for his YouTube videos throughout the years.
