My back got too wide from some random workouts I used when I first started my gym journey, and I realized it until 2025. That’s when I started working seriously on restructuring my back training. For the past year, my focus has been building depth instead of width. A lot of people run into the same problem because some routines are labelled as back routines but they’re actually lat routines. For example: pull-ups lat pulldowns lat pullovers single-arm lat pulldowns All of that in one session will heavily biases the lats, which can quickly make the back look overly wide. My mistake was that I had already built a lot of back mass during my first two years of training. So even after correcting my routine, it still took about a year to rebalance everything. So instead of focusing only on the lats, your routine should distribute work across: •	lats •	traps •	rhomboids •	rear delts •	lower back My lower back became very strong because i isolated it and I trained it consistently. And that strength now directly helps my Romanian deadlifts, which are one of my main leg exercises. Lower back is also one of your core components, so it will give you a stronger core and help you lift more on all compounds. If you want balanced aesthetics, you have to constantly evaluate what you’re building and adjust your training accordingly. I’ve shared a back routine lately if you scroll down on my page you’ll see a balanced one to use! Main takeaway from this post: Build your routine intentionally, or imbalances will build themselves. . . . . . #back #backworkout #lat
