I have learned from other creators who say they don't want to learn about racism, black history, or listen to any of us at all, and they still lack empathy. They prefer to tell lies many times to avoid being caught, wanting you and people of the same race as white racist people to feel their sympathy and take their side rather than supporting POC. They really hate it, along with white women too. That’s why some good white folks are starting to speak up and keep fighting. Never give up. Have faith in God too. We need more of you who have been doing this all along. We are proud of you all and God is too.

I used to say I don't see color, but meant it as in I don't judge people or treat people differently based on skin color. I didn't realize that it was minimizing and erasing the unique struggles BIPOC people go through and that it was so harmful. Once I learned better I stopped that, it's not hard. You just have to be willing to listen and learn. It's ok not to know things, no one is perfect, but we can make an effort to learn better.

Yes, white folks can say they aren’t racist, and perhaps that is true in their minds because they haven’t actively inflicted harm on non-whites, but the systems in place are inherently racist, and not dismantling them is where they are participating in racism.
