I’m a 2nd generation immigrant with birthright in America. I lived in my home country for about a decade and even then I was lucky we lived in a compound home that my grandparents built decades ago with an outdoor tap,garage and mini stores. However I still saw the depressing poverty around me, the area we lived in was known for being very poor and underdeveloped

You can’t make the argument that teenagers in the west (generally in the US) make more salary than some bhai with a degree when you take into account the living costs of both countries where you can buy a full day of food for the cost of a combo meal in the west. I agree in some aspects because if a teenager is merely doing a summer part time job, they are fortunate enough to not be in a position to be working full time all year
