@ksbw_8: The vehicle sought in connection with an Amber Alert for a missing 14-year-old sexual assault victim has been located, but authorities are still searching for Diana Galvez Ortega and her father, Sergio Galvez Perez, who is accused of incest, according to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office. Diana and Perez remain missing after a white Nissan Altima with no license plates was located in Monterey County. Officials have not released where the vehicle was found. The California Highway Patrol issued the Amber Alert at the request of the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office on Sunday in connection with the death of a newborn, who was found north of Moss Landing. No charges have been filed against Diana by the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office. Law enforcement has emphasized that she is a victim and said its priority is to ensure she is safe and connected with the resources she needs. Perez has been charged with three felony counts by the Monterey County District Attorney’s Office. The charges involve the alleged sexual abuse of his daughter, whom authorities have identified as a sexual assault victim. The Amber Alert identifies Perez as the suspect and says Diana was abducted Aug. 4. Diana is described as a 14-year-old Hispanic female who is 4 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 100 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. Perez is described as a 38-year-old Hispanic male who is 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. The sheriff’s office previously said the two were last seen near Constitution Boulevard and East Laurel Drive in Salinas. KSBW 8 asked where the vehicle was located and if the father and Diana were believed to still be in Monterey County. A spokesperson said that they could not release that information as it could jeopardize the investigation. "Since the Amber Alert was issued, the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office has received hundreds of calls, emails, and messages containing information related to this investigation. We are grateful to the members of our community who have taken the time to share information and remain vigilant. We recognize that the community has many questions and wants additional information, and we understand that not having those answers can be frustrating. At this time, however, there are details we cannot release without potentially jeopardizing the investigation and our efforts to safely locate Diana," said a spokesperson for the sheriff's office.
