majority of adventure bikes are 99% pavement bound no different than all the "off road package" truck and SUV that never see dirt. Love my VStrom 1k but set it up 100% for road and form factor and riding position is why I bought not some fantasy of doing Paris Dakar

guilty gs1250 adventure owner here, now I love riding the bike on the road it feels awesome great wind protection, my wife is comfortable and I can carry luggage in long journeys, I love the reliability and most important handheldin. my brother owns a Harley and great bike nothing bad to say about it but the way the big bmw feels against the Harley it's night and day

i like sitting upright better than laying back on a cruiser. i can see the road better like sitting in my truck vs a car would be the best way to explain to a non adventurer rider

Absolutely right!.. from my experience even if you force a full size ADV off road its not as fun as a mid size. Personally I use full size just for touring. You're spot on!
