Clav can’t give in to these types of claims because they’re directly contrary to his belief system. While he is objectively wrong in the sense that these instances happen everyday, a good retort on his behalf could have been something along the lines of “the interest in these dynamics is the control and power dynamic from the more desirable.” Ppl that hook up w ppl less than them can go into it with a level of indifference and more power. That’s the appeal to these engagements.
