1. Lavon Affair (1954) In 1954, Israeli military intelligence launched Operation Susannah targeting American and British civilian properties in Egypt with bombings. The goal was to frame groups like the Muslim Brotherhood to create instability and influence British and American decisions in the region. 2. King David Hotel bombing (1946) Zionist terrorist group Irgun who disguised themselves in traditional Palestinian clothing to infiltrate the hotel and plant explosives, both to gain access and to deflect blame onto Palestinians. The attack destroyed the British administrative headquarters in Jerusalem, killing 91 people. 3. Israeli Embassy Bombing London (1994) Former MI5 officer Annie Machon says that Israel bombed its own embassy in London in 1994, later blaming two Palestinian activists, Jawad Botmeh and Samar Alami. Both were convicted on evidence Machon and others say was manipulated. 4. Operation Trojan (1986) Former Mossad officer Victor Ostrovsky says Israeli intelligence planted a fake communication device in Tripoli, Libya, to transmit fabricated terrorist communications. The operation allegedly aimed to frame Libya for supporting terrorism, which led to U.S. airstrikes on Libya. 5. USS Liberty Incident (1967) During the Six-Day War, Israeli forces attacked the USS Liberty, a U.S. Navy intelligence ship, killing 34 American crew members and wounding more than 170. Israel later claimed the attack was a case of mistaken identity. However, many military analysts and survivors argue it was deliberate, possibly intended to implicate Egypt and draw the United States into the conflict. 6. Support of Extremist Groups Analysts have alleged that Israel covertly supported radical elements within Palestinian factions to weaken moderate leadership.
