As far as the desire of the heart is concerned, the act has already taken place. The fact that something is not forbidden in one particular setting does not mean that it is permitted in society as a whole. Eating something secretly is just as forbidden as eating it openly. Therefore, if certain customs are absurd and are Dajjali customs, then whether you practice them openly in front of everyone or secretly, the evil and deceptive nature of those customs will certainly manifest itself, and they will inevitably destroy your spirituality.
