@nycsecondchancerescue: ❤️ Two weeks ago, Owl was found discarded on a Brooklyn sidewalk, so severely starved that she could barely stand. Her skeletal body was covered in sores and she was desperately waiting for someone to save her. This week, Owl was finally well enough to leave the hospital and head to her foster home. Getting her there was another reminder that rescue truly takes a community. Our transport volunteer arrived to pick up Owl, along with the special food she needs as her body continues to recover, and drove her to the foster home waiting for her. Then we got to watch her simply be... a dog. ❤️ Eating her meals. Exploring her new surroundings. Going for walks. Playing with toys. Feeling safe, cared for and loved by one of our dedicated fosters. Every piece of Owl’s journey has taken someone. The person who stopped for her. The veterinary team who fought to stabilize her. The donors who made her medical care possible. The volunteers who transported her. The foster who opened their home. And every person who shared her story and rooted for her along the way. This is what rescue looks like. It takes a community to save one life, and because of ours, Owl is finally getting the second chance she deserves. ❤️ Keep rooting for our girl. Keep sharing her story and donating towards her care. Lets all HOWL FOR OWL in the comments ❤️
