According to reports emerging from the Tooro succession saga, there was a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the succession committee and the central government that reportedly provided for no succession rituals to be conducted during King Oyo’s burial. If that understanding was indeed in place, then the controversy takes a completely different turn. During burial embers of the succession camp wanted to proceed with traditional succession rituals during the burial, but Queen Mother Best Kemigisa objected.
