@weneedthisbyattn: In 2015, 19-year-old Tanner Brownlee went to an auction hoping to buy the retired patrol car once driven by his father, Weld County Deputy Sam Brownlee, who was killed in the line of duty five years earlier. Tanner had raised money to bring a piece of his father’s legacy home. But when the bidding climbed, local rancher Steve Wells won the car with a $60,000 bid. Then came the moment Tanner never expected. After winning the auction, Wells turned to Tanner and handed him the keys, giving him his father’s patrol car for free. The auction also raised money to support the families of fallen law enforcement officers. ❤️
