@sanam_sanam26: One day, I felt incredibly bored and didn’t know what to do with myself. Instead of going somewhere crowded, shopping, or looking for entertainment, I decided to do something a little unusual—I went to a cemetery and spent some time there. At first, even I thought, Why would I choose a cemetery when I’m bored?”😂 But somehow, sitting there among the graves, surrounded by silence, trees, and the sound of the wind, felt strangely peaceful. There was no noise, no pressure, no notifications demanding my attention, and no one asking me what I was doing with my life. Just silence. As I walked around, I started looking at the names and dates written on the gravestones. Some people had lived for many decades. Some had left this world very young. Some had lived long lives, while others probably had plans for tomorrow that they never got to complete. And suddenly, my little problems didn’t feel so big anymore. It made me think about how temporary everything in life really is. We spend so much of our time worrying about money, relationships, arguments, work, studies, people’s opinions, social media, and things that feel so important today. But one day, none of those things will matter. One day, our busy lives will become quiet. The people we are trying so hard to impress won’t be around. The arguments we thought were the end of the world will be forgotten. The things we were worried about may not even matter anymore. Standing there reminded me that life is incredibly precious precisely because it doesn’t last forever. We should love people while we still have them. We should say “I love you” while we have the chance. We should forgive when we can. We should stop wasting precious days trying to prove ourselves to people who don’t understand us. And most importantly, we should actually live. The cemetery didn’t make me feel sad. Surprisingly, it made me feel more grateful to be alive. I looked at those graves and thought about how every person buried there once had a morning. They woke up, made plans, laughed, cried, loved someone, worried about something, had favourite songs, favourite foods, dreams, disappointments, and ordinary days just like mine. They were once exactly where I am now—alive, breathing, thinking about tomorrow. And that thought stayed with me. Maybe life isn’t about having everything figured out. Maybe it’s about appreciating the little moments we are given. A cup of coffee. A conversation with someone we love. A walk in the evening. A random laugh. A beautiful sunset. A hug. A prayer. A quiet moment when we realise how blessed we actually are. I went to the cemetery because I was bored. I left thinking about life. Funny how sometimes the quietest places can teach us the loudest lessons. Life is short. Love deeply. Forgive quickly. Appreciate what you have. Spend time with the people who matter. Stop postponing happiness for some imaginary “perfect day.” Because tomorrow is never promised. And one day, all that will remain of us is the love we gave, the memories we created, and the impact we left behind. So today, while I still have the chance… I choose to be grateful for being alive. 🤍🕊️
