@yuung_prince: Identity is the #1 motivating factor behind how you think, and how you think shapes your reality. Thinking I’m Black and believing all the ideologies schools teach about what it means to be Black can make me believe things that won’t benefit me, whether those things are true or not. I’d rather define myself through who I actually am: African. Ethiopian. Habesha. And lastly, a mf badass winner. #habeshatiktok #africantiktok #ethiopian_tik_tok #diaspora

HS :

As a kenyan I am not black. I am kenyan long live 🇰🇪 also African and east african

🏄 :

My race is East African, my nationality is Ethiopian, and my ethnicity is connected to my culture, language, and traditions.

hellen :

we ETHIOPIAN are black. 💯

danelabera :

Rahel :

So on any application if they ask you your race, which box do you check off?

Lula-Ib :

I think people misunderstood this guy.. I am from Africa.. most people in Africa don’t say I am black.. lots of them say I am African period.

birukmelaku_ :

Facts. many individuals prefer to be recognized by their specific nationality or as "American" rather than being grouped under a singular, color based racial umbrella

Haben Tsegay :

I’m East African ❤️

ድል ቁርሱ :

I am Ethiopian and I am not black at all. I am proud to be Ethiopian 🙏💚💛❤️🙏

Tj@1090 :

Who cares you are black or non-black just leave your life being confident what you do that’s all matter .

Nunu :

You are intitled to your own opinion but I'm Ethiopian I'm very proud to be called black!!!

Truth :

I applaud you. We should stop referring to ourselves as white black or yellow. Let’s use ethnicity and nationality.

princeharris50 :

Exactly, and many get mad once addressed that issue. The term “Black” is created by the European conquest and its so abhorrent that many call themselves “black” when they can simply say “proud African”.

Kneeger :

As an FBA, thank you. I agree with every statement

afrosalamt :

Black is a Western Construct and is more for the enslaved in America arer than people in Africa

Odd :

We call this identity crisis.

Saron_2005 :

I agree with you, yet if any one sees you walking on the street first they see your skin of color that you are Black or skin of color. you can be Ethiopian, Somalian, Eritrean, Indian, Sudanese, Jamaican, Soth African etc. But in the USA being black is not just about skin color, it is also Afro American history for centuries and many more which for many of us who came from Africa does not resonate with.

user3505556831369 :

I agree with u there because habesha people are originated from Yemen
