@brandyunruhhomeexpert: Can we please stop planning our entire lives around the magical day interest rates “finally come down”? 😏 Right now, the national average for a 30-year mortgage is hanging around 6.75%, and depending on the borrower, loan program and financial profile, plenty of buyers are actually seeing rates over 7%. And here’s the part we probably need to get comfortable with: this may be our normal for a while. The Mortgage Bankers Association is currently forecasting mortgage rates around 6.5% for the foreseeable future. So if you’re sitting on the sidelines waiting for 3% or 4% rates to come riding back into town…you may be waiting a minute. Instead of asking: “When are rates coming down?” I’d rather ask: “When does buying a home make sense for YOU?” Your income. Your payment. Your savings. Your family. Your plans. Your opportunity. Because your housing decisions shouldn’t be dictated entirely by what is happening nationally—or worldwide. You can spend years waiting for the “perfect” interest rate and completely miss the opportunity that was actually perfect for you. Buy when the numbers and your life make sense. Not when the headlines finally give you permission. #ColoradoRealEstate #HomeBuying #MortgageRates #NorthernColorado
When you say stop planning your life around rates you do acknowledge it’s a 30 year commitment to that rate unless something changes? I don’t understand the realtor disconnect from reality. People do not want to pay 7%+ for an overpriced home.
