@silvanobarocio: A housing project 15 years in the making may finally break ground in Lafayette. 🏗️ The Terraces of Lafayette was first proposed back in 2011. After years of redesigns, public debate, a voter referendum, and lawsuits that reached the California Supreme Court, the developer is now hoping to begin construction in 2027. The project would bring: 🏠 315 new apartments 🔑 63 affordable units 📍 Approximately 1.5 miles from Lafayette BART 🌳 Roughly 22 acres along Deer Hill Road For Lafayette, this could mean more housing options, hundreds of new residents supporting local businesses, and more people living closer to jobs and transit. But it also raises the bigger question facing communities across the Bay Area: How do we add the housing we need while preserving what people already love about these communities? After 15 years of debate, do you think this is the right move for Lafayette? 👇 #lafayetteca #lafayetterealestate #eastbayrealestate #bayarearealestate #bayarearealtor #housingdevelopment

First, let me thank you for a very thorough and unbiased report on the history of the project and the current status of what’s gonna happen.
I definitely think this is a great move for Lafayette for all the reasons you stated at the end of your clip Lafayette needs more folks in that area folks want to be close to Bart but also enjoy the great atmosphere & Community of Lafayette, so I think ultimately this is gonna be a good thing for everybody.

This is why Laguna Niguel and similar high density expansion is HORRIBLE. Nobody will walk to Bart, they will all be driving on Hwy 24, Ygnacio Valley Rd and Mt Diablo Blvd, choking it even more than it is now.

Just what these areas need, more people, more housing. It’s a disaster trying to drive through downtown Lafayette as it stands now.

When he’s saying affordable housing meaning at least 700-800 k depends on the actual price tags. So affordable housing isn’t that affordable

how are people going to get anywhere if they don't have a car? the public transportation is practically non-existent over there. yes you need more affordable housing, but some big mogul owning this apartment complex and charging too much for people to live there is not the solution to a much larger problem.
