I agree that the purpose of the language is communication… Of course. However, my courses and content are designed for B2/C1 English learners and so my students come to me as already brilliant communicators! 💪🏻 I teach a lot of non-native English teachers too. They already know how to communicate and be understood. That’s why my content specialises in teaching nuanced, detailed grammar and pronunciation rules… That’s my target audience. Learners who love learning grammar (like me!) and pronunciation rules with very ambitious language learning goals. Not just “to be understood”. Both are equally valid and there’s no right or wrong here. It’s simply a student preference :) What I don’t appreciate is all of these English teaching accounts that seek to embarrass English teachers - ESPECIALLY non-native teachers who have spent their entire lifetime studying English. I teach a lot of these teachers and I hate seeing them being criticised for making mistakes in their non-native language. #english #englishteacher #learnenglish #britishenglish #britishenglishteacher
